Snow and lots of it!

Winter refuses to leave. On April 16, 2009, this is what we woke up to. Just a few days ago we were outside enjoying the 60 degree weather, and now look at it! I didn't believe the weather man when he predicted snow in the valleys. I thought "Yeah, sure the mountains will get snow, but I bet it will only rain down here in the valley." Boy, was I wrong!
Look at these poor blossoms on this drooping branch. I don't think even the blossoms saw this one coming. See, I am not the only one wanting spring to be here, even nature is confused!

Although I was unhappy that it had snowed, I could not resist taking pictures because it was just so beautiful! Everything as you can see was covered in white.

Standing in our backyard.

This is our street that we live on. We almost didn't make it out of our parking spot. I thought we were going to be stuck, but our ol' green machine bucked up and made it out!

Rob showing off the accumulation that we received, right before he scraped it all off the car. Unbelievable!

This is my favorite picture I took. On a positive note, this is my favorite type of snow. The kind that falls quickly, covers all the trees, melts fast, and allows the sun to still come out. Happy spring everyone!

You don't see this everyday...

For those of you that know Robert, there is no need to explain the significance of this picture, but for the rest of you I will gladly explain. Robert dislikes or refuses to eat most "green" things, but since we have been together "we" have been trying to work on this. The other night I made a salad for dinner and asked him if he wanted to try some. As nice as he is, he accepted. However, to my surprise, he loved it! He even asked for seconds! Amazing I know! Well, slowly but surely he is branching out and liking more "green" things. Way to go Rob!

Happy Easter! Spring is here...

Yesterday, it finally felt like spring! It was 70 degree weather, so after work we went to Subway to grab some sandwiches and headed to the park. It was such a beautiful day to have a picnic! After we ate, we threw the baseball around. Sadly, the 70 degree weather is already gone today, but we sure enjoyed the bright sunny day that we had! After watching American Idol and going grocery shopping, we came home and decided to color our Easter eggs. I can't believe Easter is already here! Where has the year gone? Well, here are some highlights from our Easter egg decorating.

Smile!

This is me creating my favorite egg of the night.

Hard at work...he was so intense on creating a design that he dropped two eggs that night while drawing. We managed to save one, but the other was a goner.

Showing off the end result.

A close up shot.

Rob's final product! He dedicated the red one to me, if you couldn't tell. Haha! I have such a wonderful husband! We love coloring easter eggs together. It is one of our favorite Easter traditions. Come to think of it, I cannot remember an Easter when I did not color eggs!

Law School Update

For those of you who are interested, here is an update on the law school pursuit. Yes, we still do not know where we are going. Hopefully, we will know more after this week. We are still waiting to hear back from 5 law schools. For those law schools I have been accepted to, we must put a seat deposit down by April 15th to reserve a spot in the class. So yes, we are cutting it close! We wish we did not have to, but unfortunately that is how things go sometimes. We have narrowed our choices down to 2 schools at the moment, University of Mississippi and Stetson University. However, these could change after hearing back from more schools.

List of schools I have been accepted to:
1) University of Mississippi (Oxford, MS)
2) Stetson University (St. Petersburg, FL)
3) Samford University (Birmingham, AL)
4) Florida Coastal School of Law (Jacksonville, FL)

List of schools waiting to hear back from:
1) Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL)
2) University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN)
3) University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC)
4) University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL)
5) University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC)

Once again...

I am unbelievably surprised at how generous and kind people are. The president of the company I work for, and who I report to for my job missed my birthday last week. In conversation a while back we were discussing our favorite places to eat. I guess he remembered that conversation because he mailed me a $75.00 gift certificate to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse! I could not believe it! I was so happy and excited since this happens to be my favorite steak place to eat! We do not go there often for as you may know $75.00 barely covers the tab for two. I just wanted to share this because I am constantly reminded of how "little" acts of kindness and service really make a difference in someone's day! We are going to wait to use it until we can celebrate making our official decision on where Robert is going for law school. We will keep you posted!

Happy Birthday!

Yep, it's that time of year again, my birthday! March 16th, the day before St. Patrick's Day! To kick off my birthday, Robert made me muffins in the morning before work and gave me a beautiful daisy! After work, Robert surprised me with a very festive cookie cake that was quite tasty! He also went grocery shopping for us and cleaned up the house while I was at work.

Robert knows that a daisy will always make me smile!

After blowing out the candles, I opened all of my cards from family members and gifts from Robert, which were a new pair of black flats and a curling iron Vera Bradley holder (so when I am on trips I do not have to worry about packing a hot curling iron). My visiting teachers Kaydee and Kim also gave me Bath and Body Works soap. Thanks girls!

Thank you for all the sweet cards and money! I will hopefully be buying that new camera I want this weekend!

After all of that fun, Robert took me out to a nice dinner at Tucanos, a Brazilian Steakhouse. Following dinner, we went shopping for a little bit, so I could pick up some new jewelry. To cap off the night, we went out to watch a movie. It was nice to celebrate my first birthday as a married woman with my husband, but I definitely missed having family and friends around! We wish you all could have been here with us! Love you all!

Well here's to 23! I hope this year will be as good as last and better!

Rock Band!

On Friday night, we went out to dinner with friends that live in our neighborhood. We are so lucky to have such great friends! Dinner was a blast! After a delicious dinner we went back to the Crane's house to party and play Rock Band all night!
I present to you the ladies...

and the metal heads...

Nice move...

I love these girls! I will miss them so much when we move!

Now that is what I call a band! Look at Robert's face! Haha! We pretty much rocked the house!

Our main lady, "Stone Cold", too bad you can't see the moves she pulled out that night! She was tearing up the stage!

Tough guys...

You had to be there! Best performance of the night! Only a true rocker could pull off singing Metallica in red slippers.

We had one of the best nights ever! Rock Band was such a fun game, and we couldn't get enough of it! Thank you to the Crane's for letting us jam out all night! You guys rock!
